Oakite

Oakite® 90 is a powdered alkaline material designed to anodically remove smut, oil, and other shop soils from steel prior to plating. It is also suitable for reverse current cleaning of copper and copper-plated steel. The material features high conductivity and long solution life. Additionally, Oakite® 90 forms a controlled foam blanket that traps mist and vapors without trapping ignitable gasses. Since it does not contain soap, there are no rinsing issues. Oakite® 90 is designed to meet the latest regulations and future environmental standards.

Oakite® 160 is a powdered, caustic aluminum etchant for immersion application. It etches aluminum to eliminate surface imperfections and produce a matte, satin finish. As a chelated product, it retards scale buildup in tanks and on heating coils, keeping it soft for easy disposal. Oakite® 160 rinses easily and forms a controlled foam blanket to minimize alkali mist and fumes.

Oakite® 61B is an inhibited, alkaline immersion powder cleaner designed for aluminum and aluminum alloy castings, forgings, and sheet materials. It is also effective for cleaning steel, magnesium, or titanium. Specifically formulated to remove stenciled identification inks, including baked-on inks, as well as oils and shop soils, Oakite® 61B does so without causing any harm to the base metal.
